Today we ran errands all morning and ended up missing our time at the gym (which Cooper loves). To console him, I said that we could go to Ashley's house once we were home and see if she could play. Once home, he immediately wanted to go to Ashley's house (a 2-year-old has a really great memory when it is good for him). We walked down the street to her house and her dad said Ashley already had a friend over. I knelt down and tried to explain to Cooper why Ashley couldn't play, but he just melted! Big tears, wailing cries. He stopped just short of laying on the ground. He wasn't mad; he just didn't understand. But, we walked home, tears and all.
Ashley came over about 5 minutes later with her friend and invited Cooper to come and swim with them. (Her dad felt bad for Cooper.) She has a 4 feet deep pool. You can imagine that I didn't think this was a good idea, but how could any good refuse? So down the block we went and he did pretty good. The girls held him in the pool (they could just barely touch) even though he can tread water. This freed me to chat with Ashley's mom.
Camry slept through it all!
Ashley goes back to school on Wednesday, what is Cooper going to do?
